Common questions

Will it look exactly like the photo?

Yours will match the pattern, colors and shape, and carry brushwork no other piece has. That’s what painted by hand means.

What does UNIKAT mean?

UNIKAT marks the most detailed class of pattern made in Bolesławiec. Each pattern has a named designer, and only experienced decorators who have worked up to it paint it by hand. The base shows the UNIKAT mark, the pattern number, the designer’s name and the initials of the person who painted your piece.

How do I look after it?

Avoid sudden temperature changes. Don't move a dish straight from the freezer or fridge into a hot oven, or pour cold liquid into a hot dish. Let it come to room temperature first.

Oven use. Place your dish in the oven before it heats up, or put it in a preheated oven only when the dish is already at room temperature. Never use it on the stovetop, under the broiler, or over an open flame.

Microwave use. Always have food or liquid in the dish when microwaving. Don't heat it empty.

Handle with care. Stoneware is strong, but a hard knock can chip or crack it. Use a trivet under hot bakers, and don't set hot dishes on a cold, wet counter.
